“Those who stay away from the election
think that one vote will do no good:
‘Tis but one step more to think
one vote will do no harm.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-

As a citizen of this great country, it is both your privilege and your duty to vote. Voting can be a very rewarding experience, and registering is very easy.

To register to vote in the state of Georgia, you must be:
—A citizen of the United States
—At least 18 years of age by election day
—A legal resident of the state of Georgia
—A legal resident of the county in which you wish to vote

Also, you may not register to vote if you are currently:
—Serving any sentence imposed by the conviction of a felony
—Judicially determined to be mentally incompetent

Please Note: In the state of Georgia, you do not have to register by political party to vote in the state’s regular primaries or general elections.

You may register to vote at any time, but you must be registered by the close of registration prior to an election if you wish to vote on election day, i.e., the application must be postmarked by the voter registration deadline.
